Kamado Grills are extremely versatile and the Gourmet Guru Grill is no exception to this rule. You can use them as ovens, grills and smokers. In today's recipe we will make stuffed Fritos-Ranch Burgers (a.k.a. Juicy Lucy) on the Gourmet Guru Grill. Today, we will use the Gourmet Guru as a smoker. 

Heat your Gourmet Guru Grill to approximately 225 degrees F. Start your lump charcoal and then add your favorite wood. I'm using Mesquite from Gourmet Smoker Woods. Next, insert the Gourmet Guru Plate Setter so that you can achieve indirect heating.

Gourmet Guru Plate SetterIngredients

  • Ground beef 2 lbs
  • Crushed Fritos 1 cup
  • Ranch dressing 6 oz
  • Cheddar cheese 1 1/2 cup
  • Worcestershire 2 tbsp
  • Mushrooms ½ cup chopped
  • Smoked Peppers ½ cup chopped
  • White onion 1 choppedBacon slides 2 per burger
  • Minced Garlic 2 tbsp
  • Prosciutto 3 oz chopped
  • Burger or Steak Seasoning

Mix the ground beef, ½ of the Fritos, chopped onion and minced garlic in a bowl. Set aside.

Now to make the stuffing, mix the rest of the Fritos, Ranch Dressing, Mushrooms, Cheese, Worcestershire and Prosciutto in a separate bowl..

You can make your stuffed burgers by hand, but I like using the Stuff-A-Burger Press. This really helps to make the job easy and each burger uniform in size.

Stuff a Burger PressAfter your burgers are prepared, season with your favorite burger/steak seasoning. I used Jack Stack Steak Seasoning from the famous BBQ restaurant in Kansas City.

Place your burgers on the Gourmet Guru Grill. Smoke time will be 1.5 to 2 hours.

When your burgers are done, finish with your favorite toppings. I used Romaine lettuce, bacon, tomato and a fried egg.
